When I discovered that my college had partnered with The Georgia Film Academy to create a new film program, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to take their film editing classes. I had never edited before that, but film has always been a passion of mine. I love how cinema has the power to transport you to other worlds, evoke a range of emotions within you, and leave a lasting impact on your life. I soon found that editing was something that I loved to do as well. It can be very time consuming, but once you get in the flow, time flies by because editing is so much fun! I love the way that editing allows me to shape the story, enhance the emotions, and create a seamless flow that captivates the audience. It is a process that requires meticulous attention to detail, technical skill, and a keen eye for storytelling. I find great joy in exploring different editing techniques, experimenting with various cuts and transitions, and bringing the director's vision to life. The power of cinema is truly remarkable, and I am grateful to be a part of the process that brings these stories to the screen.

Skateboard Music Video
I collected some of the best skateboard trick videos that I found on Facebook and Youtube. Then I put them together in this video to match up with the song Can't Stop by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. If you listen closely to the lyrics, you will notice that certain parts of the video go well with them. Like the part where it says, "knocked out before, you better come to" and the skater pretends he is asleep and then wakes up.
Japanese TV Show Music Video
I made this music video for fun. It is based off of one of my favorite Japanese TV shows, Hana Kimi.
Hana Kimi is a Japanese mini-series about a girl named Mizuki who pretends to be a boy so that she can sneak into an all boys dormitory school. While she is there, her new friend Nakatsu starts to have feelings for her even though he thinks that she is a boy. Nakatsu isn't gay, so he is very confused as to why he his heart beats so fast when he gets near Mizuki. It's similar to Shakespeare's 12th Night or the American movie "She's the Man." It's very funny and fun to watch.
Bingo Night Short Film
I edited the first 3 scenes and part of another scene in the middle where two characters are in the back office. My two partners edited the other scenes. I also did most of the sound design. I added all of the sound effects and the opening song. My partner did the instrumental music placement. Our version of this short film received the most praise out of all the teams so I was really happy about that.
Dojo Scene
This is the first movie scene that I ever edited. I edited it in my Intro to Post-Production class at The Georgia Film Academy. It's another scene from the short film Bingo Night.
Handicapped John Scene
After my first editing class was over, I asked my teacher if he could send me something to edit during the break. He sent me the material for a short scene for a comedy show or movie. I enjoyed editing it. It was 3rd project that I edited.
Media Literacy Video Essay
This is a video essay on Media Literacy that I made for my class Writing and Editing for New Media.
Japan Podcast Episode
This is a podcast episode that I produced and edited for my Writing and Editing for New Media class. In the episode, I give an introductory Japanese lesson to my classmate. He was the main sound engineer for the class, but I volunteered to do the sound engineering for my episode.
Pet Therapy Commercial
The manager of Brighter Day Pet Therapy approached me with an exciting opportunity to help advertise their new business through video. I took charge of the project by crafting a compelling script that highlighted the unique services they offer. To bring the script to life, I sourced an adorable AI voice to narrate it, ensuring the tone matched the warm and inviting nature of the therapy sessions. After gathering suitable stock videos that visually represented the brand, I meticulously edited them together for a cohesive flow. To enhance engagement, I designed a custom motion graphic call to action using Canva and added a fitting music soundtrack. Upon presenting the final video, the manager expressed genuine delight with the results, confirming that it effectively captured the essence of their mission and would resonate with potential clients.
How to Learn Japanese Video
I created this video using Canva, designing and editing it to be fun and enjoyable to watch. With Canva's user-friendly interface and various design tools, I was able to add vibrant colors, eye-catching graphics, and engaging animations to make the video visually appealing. I carefully selected music to enhance the overall experience, ensuring that the audience would be entertained from start to finish.
Fall Festival Advertisement
The manager of a local business asked me to make a video to advertise their upcoming Fall Festival. I made this custom design in Canva. The manager was very pleased with the results.
My First Movie Trailer
This was the first video that I ever edited. It was our first project in my first editing class. The assignment was to create a movie trailer that is different from the movie. I was given footage from the comedy movie Clue. I made the trailer as if the movie was a thriller instead of a comedy.
Superhero Weapon Creation
I made this video with my nephew, Rowen. He wanted to make a short video about someone finding a stone with a mysterious power, and then making a weapon with the stone so that they can become a superhero. I filmed and edited it according to his vision, kind of like an editor working with a director. You have to use a little imagination with our props since we simply used things that were lying around, but we are both pretty happy with the way it turned out. It was fun activity for us.
